Morning Report – Tuesday 29th March
FTSE to open at 7,512 (+39 pts)
The Japanese yen fell to a seven-year low yesterday – touching ¥125 per dollar as monetary policy from the Bank of Japan (BoJ) continues to diverge from other central banks…
The BoJ recently underlined its commitment to economic stimulus which is very different to the Fed and other major central banks who are tightening. This has stoked speculation that the BoJ could intervene to prop up the currency for the first time since 1998.
Japanese Stocks have extended their gains while stocks in Hong Kong are also in positive territory.
