Regency View:
Morning Report – Thursday 30th December
FTSE to open at 7,416 (-4 pts)
Wall Street equities were mixed yesterday, with the blue-chip S&P 500 index inching 0.14% higher to post a new record close, while the technology-focused Nasdaq Composite dipped 0.10%.
While in Asia, stocks have been lackluster as the spread of Omicron clouded what is the last trading day of the year for many exchanges in the region.
S&P 500 | +0.14% | Neutral for UK stocks |
Hang Seng | -0.41% | Bearish for UK stocks |
Gold | -0.39% | Bullish for UK stocks |
AUD/JPY | +0.31% | Bullish for UK stocks |
US 10yr Yield | +4.65% | Bearish for UK stocks |
The FTSE cash market just about maintained Monday’s breakout which occurred on the futures.
We would expect to see the broken November swing highs at 7,405 to provide support as we head into the final trading hours of 2021.
