Morning Report – Thursday 25th November
FTSE to open at 7,305 (+19 pts)
Stocks on Wall Street were relatively muted yesterday as traders weighed strong labour market data against the impact of tightening monetary policy…
US initial jobless claims for last week fell to their lowest level since 1969, and minutes from the Fed’s November meeting showed several policymakers had advocated for a quicker reduction in monetary stimulus.
Overnight in Asia, markets have been quiet due to US markets being closed for Thanksgiving today.
S&P 500 | +0.23% | Bullish for UK stocks |
Hang Seng | +0.24% | Bullish for UK stocks |
Gold | +0.27% | Bearish for UK stocks |
AUD/JPY | +0.11% | Neutral for UK stocks |
US 10yr Yield | -2.01% | Bullish for UK stocks |
The FTSE fought back to end yesterday’s session in positive territory, maintaining the market’s bounce from support.
Should prices hold above yesterday’s highs during the opening rotation, we could well see a steady move higher given the US is closed for Thanksgiving.
