FTSE to open at 7,299 (+7 pts)
Stocks on Wall Street rallied yesterday after the US Federal Reserve made clear its intentions to fight inflation…
The US central bank raised its main interest rate by a quarter of a percentage point for the first time since 2018, and increased the number of potential rate hikes this year in its ‘dot plot’.
Overnight in Asia, Chinese stocks rallied for a second consecutive day after China’s Financial Stability and Development Committee promised “substantial measures” to shore up growth and flagged other supportive actions.
Looking ahead, we have the interest rate decision and policy statement from the Bank of England.
